Slab built vessels were made from 1991 to 1993. Often made in pairs as if in conversation, it was a technical challenge to build pieces leaning to their limits whilst still able to stand.

These early pieces were single walled with an internal, black, eggshell glaze application. Surfaces decoration was applied with engobes using a paper resist tecnique picked up with a black wash at the biscuit stage.
